VERIFICATION OF CARBON CREDIT CERTIFICATIONS
In a rapidly expanding carbon market, it is essential to ensure the authenticity, uniqueness and compliance with international best practice of every carbon credit issued. Without rigorous verification, the risk of double-counting, greenwashing or unproven emissions can compromise the effectiveness of offset mechanisms and undermine the confidence of market players.
SIE Missions
SIE acts in its capacity as an independent trusted third party to control and verify the authenticity of carbon credits placed on the market. It plays the essential role of last line of defence after the intervention of the validation and verification bodies (VVB).
While the VVBs provide project validation and initial verification of emissions reductions, the EIS ensures that only credits that genuinely meet the strictest the most stringent requirements circulate on the market.
Through a rigorous and impartial process, EIS ensures that every carbon credit:Is unique, avoiding double counting. Complies with international best practice and carbon market requirements. Represents a real and measurable reduction in greenhouse gas emissions.
Thanks to this approach, SIE actively contributes to a transparent, efficient and trustworthy carbon market. By strengthening the credibility of carbon credits credits, we are helping to structure a robust and attractive offsetting ecosystem, an essential lever for accelerating the transition to a low-carbon future carbon future in Morocco and abroad.
